Occasionally, Perth Graphics Centre is called upon to engineer a solution for a particular application. In the case of Scitech in Perth, the requirement was that banners needed to be changed without using a cherry picker each time.
Normally, we would call on an elevated work platform (EWP) for installation, but the client insisted that because it was being changed over so often, hiring an EWP wasn’t in the marketing budget.
No problem. We can work with that. Our team was able to create a system that allows the banners to be changed over in a matter of minutes without having to use high lift equipment.
Perth Graphics Centre fashioned a special winch system across the base of the banner area which allowed us to use an aluminium track to slide the banner in and out.
Once the banner was in place, it was pulled taught via the winch, which kept the banner skin free of the wind and maintained a flat surface which can be seen from hundreds of metres away.
We also installed special profiles on the edge of the building to prevent rubbing which would eventually cause the banner to weaken and break. As that was eliminated, it created a tight, vibrant signage surface and one that looks amazing year-round.
Of course, not every sign requires such an intensive installation process, however we have the expertise to create and maintain systems that work in specific circumstances.
